Mixed Use Development Church Street Brighton

Set in the North Laine Conservation Area of Brighton, this mixed use development utilises the tight urban grain of the area and sloping site to create a design that knits into the context. Incorporating a private landscaped courtyard the scheme comprises nine townhouses together with retail outlets and small office units above an underground car park. The project demonstrates how contemporary buildings can blend into historic environments through the careful use of contextual materials and respect for the scale of surrounding buildings. The result is a truly sustainable development that will repair the urban fabric and enhance the conservation area.

The new design embraces the stunning views the location offers while still maintaining the essence of the original property and gardens as requested by the client and the planners. Contract Value: £4M.
Groom Place Belgravia London

The property was an existing three storey house that was an infill within a central London mews. This meant that multiple Party Wall Awards were required prior to commencing work as well as approvals from Grosvenor Estates. The project called for all internal walls, floors and roof to be stripped out, a basement to be added and then all the floors replaced along with a new roof. Through this process, greater storey heights were created within the same roof level. The brief called for the interior to be open plan with as much natural light as possible. This has been achieved through careful design to create an exciting space that links all floors with a stunning, open tread, cantilevered staircase. Contract Value: £750,000.
